Danny Mossison the General manager for Netcomm Australia was our guest this month.

Danny spoke about the fundemental shifts that are taking place in the way people view the media and news they find of interest.
The six o’clock news, radio and television are not the only means of getting information these days.
With the introduction of the web to the moblie phone some new treads in access have emerged.

Both viewing times and the demand for online video have taken off in the last year.
Netcomm with a true spirit of innovation have designed a router and modem to allow mobile phone users to take full advange of this mobile revolution. The moblile 3G router. 

Notice the pcmcia card and the USB modem.
This router allows you to slot in your mobile phone company’s modem to the router and via wireless or ethernet cable connect your whole house to the web. The router also allows connection to ADSL so you can have the best of both worlds

Danny then when on to speak about Netassure, the easy way for company’s to set up a secure network over a public ISP.
For a small to medium business this is a cost effective way of linking the company’s business sites without the hugh IT cost of creating and maintaining a dedicated network.

The last product Danny spoke about was the Telstra Turbo 7 series Wireless gateway. It integrates both a wireless LAN and an HSPA module.
Slip in the Telstra “Next G” sim card and the whole network is ready to surf.
The other interesting feature of this unit is the detachable antennas. If you are out in the county or like me get shadowed by a great hill then the you can still find great reception using larger antenna.
