Tonight saw the welcome return of David Hall from Symantec. David opened the year with a review of the new Norton 360.
Tonight he spoke of the new produce range for 2008 and the on going development of Symantec both to protection and performance.
With a new dedicated performance team Symantec are looking to insuring the program wont slow you down by reducing the processing time for your computer while maximimising protection.
David then spoke about the latest threat, the “Drive by Download”. This takes the form of an iframe set by an intruder on a legitimate web site. When you visit the site the iframe drops a key logged on your computer.
In a tribute to the esteem with which Symantec hold our members People from the group were asked to take part in a product evaluation of both Norton Anti Virus and Internet Security 2008. Several members got to take home one of either product in exchange for a written evaluation.
