Hello and Welcome,

The time has come for some change within the club's website. John Lucke has been putting together a trial site and the Committee would appreciate all members taking some time to view the website with whatever browser they use and sending their assessment to There will also be a 10 minute review at the next Main Meeting, Tuesday 24 February 2008. Remember that your Committee values your opinions.

In an effort to streamline the management of SIG meetings, your Committee also asks those of you who attend the many SIG meetings to take a look at the cabinet that houses the many components that run the computer.  If you could put forward any ideas on the how the tangle (?number?) of cords can be reduced and also to alleviate the need for SIG leaders to get on the floor to plug in additional hardware items. Any ideas/plans can be forwarded to or give to your SIG leader to pass on to a Committee member.

The Membership committee will be hosting another stall on Sunday 1 March at the Roundhouse, University of NSW in an effort to boost the club's membership. It is hoped that those of you who can make yourselves available will come along and help in promoting the benefits of the SPCUG. Parking is available please see map.

Tuesday 17 February - Seniors - Alan Matthews - 10 am - 12 noon

Tuesday 17 February - Genealogy - Terry Eakin - 1 pm - 3 pm

Terry will cover research basics starting with yourself and working backwards in Australia first, then locating the shipping records and THEN researching overseas ancestors. Terry will also prepare a written paper covering the basic rules of good research.

Saturday 21 February - Web Design - Robert Hume - 2 pm - 4 pm

A good roll-up last month. The Web Design site was checked and reports updated. Roberts 'new' site was looked at and options discussed regarding designs. A series of text styles were made using the CSS function in Fusion.

This meeting will look further into Roberts 'new' site?
