Hello and Welcome,
Details of next week's meetings are below.
Tuesday 17 September - Seniors - 9:30am - 12:30pm
Alex Zaharov-Reutt will give a tutorial at next week's Main Meeting about the speed, capacity and prices of the solid-state drives currently available in the market place and the benefits that can be derived from installing them in our computers.
At this week's seniors meeting the group will undertake a preliminary discussion about solid-state drive technology so that members can obtain the maximum benefit from Alex's tutorial.
The usual question and answer session will be available at the meeting to help resolve any difficulties members are experiencing with their computers.
Tuesday 17 September - Genealogy - T Eakin - 12:30pm - 3:30pm
Terry Eakin had intended to talk about the Biographical Database of Australia at this meeting but as the database will not be made available until later in the month he will explore some other sources for finding details of Births, Marriages and Deaths in Australia, including early Church Records, Musters & Censuses, Cemetery Records and other Indexes.
He will conclude the session by looking at newspaper notices and discussing how the problems of establishing dates of death can be solved.
A question and answer session will provide members with an opportunity to discuss any family history issues they have encountered.

Saturday 21 September - Web Design - S South - 1:30pm - 4:30pm
At this meeting Steve South will start looking at Response Web Design. This idea is all about one design that will fit all shapes. The group will begin by looking at some tutorials on the basic concepts and then move into the core components that make a web page responsive, starting with Media Queries.

Over the following months the group will look at fluid image design and how to layout a site to improve its appearance over all formats from big screens to small smartphones.
